Intermittent Lane Closures This Week on Swedesford Road Bridge
Flagger to control crossing during deck placement operations
03/8/2010 - King of Prussia, PA.
Motorists using Swedesford Road in East Whiteland Township, Chester County, may encounter daytime lane closures during the week of March 8-12 for construction activities on the bridge over Route 202, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today.
Flaggers may be in place Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to direct a single lane of traffic across the bridge as crews place the new concrete deck on the northern half of the span. The bridge is located at the southern end of the Route 29 Interchange.
The planned activities, which are weather dependent, are not expected to impact travel on Route 202.
The overpass, along with the nearby span carrying Route 29/Morehall Road over Route 202, are among seven bridges that are being modified or replaced with wider structures to make room for a future improvement of the expressway between North Valley Road in Tredyffrin Township and the Route 30 Bypass Interchange in East Whiteland Township.
Reconstruction and widening on Route 202 are scheduled to begin in 2011.
